MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Zach Fuller hit his first home run of the season and third of his career in the Simpson College baseball team's 9-1 nonconference loss to Cornell on Tuesday.
Fuller lifted a solo shot over the left field wall to put Simpson (15-22) on the board in the fourth, cutting Cornell's lead to 5-1. The Rams (21-15) added four runs across the sixth and eighth innings to set the final margin at eight and secure their eighth straight victory.
Fuller and Drew Carlson were each 2-for-3 with a walk to lead the Storm offensively.

The Storm remain on the road to face Wartburg this weekend. The series begins with a doubleheader on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude with a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
