Dunlavy, Keller earn all-conference honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Simpson's Megan Dunlavy earned second team All-Iowa Conference honors and Steph Keller landed an honorable mention nod for the 2011 volleyball season, as announced by the conference office Friday.

Dunlavy, a senior middle hitter from Bettendorf, Iowa and 2010 first team all-conference performer, closed her career No. 8 in program history with 1,344 kills and No. 3 with a .271 hitting percentage. She led the conference with 3.69 kills per set in 2011, accumulating 432 total kills. She paced the team with 57 blocks and a .291 hitting percentage on the season and ranked fourth in the league with 43 service aces.

Dunlavy was recognized as the Iowa Conference Hitter of the Week three times during her career, including twice in 2010. She set a Simpson single-match record for players with 15-19 attack attempts when she hit .824 (14-0-17) in a 3-0 win against Luther on Oct. 19.

Keller, a junior outside hitter from Ames, Iowa, landed an all-conference honor for the first time during her career. She ranked second on the team with 316 kills and a .187 hitting percentage. In Simpson's signature 3-2 win over Cornell, Keller buried a career-high 24 kills to lead the Storm.

Simpson went 14-18 in 2011, going 3-5 in the Iowa Conference. The Storm and 13th-year head coach Lana Smith finished tied for sixth in the league.
