Storm fall to Wartburg in three

WAVERLY, Iowa - Britlyn Sieck had a game-high 11 kills and Wartburg beat the Simpson volleyball team 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-18) on Wednesday night at Levick Arena.

Kelly Nimann added nine kills, a .592 hitting percentage and 3 1/2 blocks for the Knights (19-8, 6-1 Iowa Conference).

Megan Dunlavy - who left due to injury in the third set - led the way with nine kills for the Storm (8-14, 1-5). Steph Keller chipped in with eight kills and Ashley Padget distributed 19 assists.

Wartburg hit .333 on the evening, holding Simpson to .089.  

Simpson returns to action this weekend when it hosts the 24th Simpson Invitational on Oct. 14-15. Loras, Monmouth, Nebraska Wesleyan, St. Thomas and William Penn visit Cowles Fieldhouse for the two-day tournament. Play begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. View the tournament web page here.
