Women's track and field tied for sixth at IIACs

MT. VERNON, Iowa – Kinsey Bak placed third in the pentathlon to lead the Simpson women's track and field team on the first day of the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships.

The Storm are tied for sixth with Cornell with 15 points.

Simpson picked up most of its points thanks to Bak, who scored 3,126 points. She tied for first in the high jump and took second in the shot put on her way to third overall.

Bayley Fleshner qualified for finals in the 60-meter hurdles, taking fourth in the preliminaries (9.23). Jordan Maher took sixth (9.23), as both will compete in the finals on Saturday.

The distance medley relay team of Jayde Boyle, Nicole Mulder, Sammy Nelson and Jade Osborne placed fifth, crossing the finish line in 13:09.28.
