The 2011-12 season brought us many great moments. From thrilling overtime wins, to conference championships, to milestone achievements, this past year was a true testament to the success experienced by student-athletes at Simpson.

Your votes for the top moments of the 2011-12 season have been tallied. Now, we will reveal the results as we re-live our favorite moments of the year.

No. 2: Track & Field goes 3-for-3 at Nationals

For the Simpson track and field team, the theme was quality, not quantity at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Catie Ellingson placed fourth in the 1500-meter run, Kinsey Bak placed seventh in the high jump and Ben Coy placed eighth in the 400-meter run, giving Simpson three All-Americans out of three qualifiers.

Ellingson, a senior from Indianola, Iowa, closed her career as a six-time All-American. She finished the 1500 in 4:27.87, just a fraction of a second behind third-place finisher Erica Jackey of Washington-St. Louis. Ellingson bounced back in 2012 after a knee injury forced her to miss the entire 2011 outdoor season.

Bak, a senior from Hinton, Iowa, became the feel-good story of the weekend when she competed with a torn hamstring. Despite being in visible pain, the senior cleared bar after bar, drawing the attention of the crowd and her fellow competitors.

For Coy, a senior from Jewell, Iowa, the race was about payback. He ran a 48.33, edging out Josh Goerdt of Loras, who denied Coy an Iowa Conference Championship in the 400 just two weeks before. Coy became Simpson's first male All-American since 2005 and the first under seventh-year head coach Dave Cleveland.
