Postdual Interview - Head Coach Aaron Strain

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Hannah Yarborough won two individual events and helped Simpson to a relay win but the Storm lost to Coe 106-79 in the Iowa Conference opener Friday night.

Yarborough won the 400 and 800 freestyle and swam the anchor leg in the 200 freestyle relay for the Storm (0-1, 0-1 Iowa Conference). She dominated the field in the 800, winning by more than a minute with a 10:32.34. She won by 26 seconds in the 400, finishing in 5:09.17.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Emily Magers, Catherine Mayes, Ashley Ziebell and Yarborough finished in 2:13.13, taking first due to a disqualification.

"Overall the team did fantastic," head coach Aaron Strain said. "We won our fair share of events but in the end Coe had more depth than us."

Stefani Smith and Megan Lein turned in Simpson's other winning efforts. Smith won the 200 IM in 2:49.72 and Lein took the 100 backstroke in 1:26.56. Lein also came in second to Smith in the 200 IM (2:52.13).

Anna Aldridge added a second-place showing in the 50 freestyle, completing the event in 30.54.

The Storm hit the water again tomorrow when they travel to Sioux City for the Morningside Invitational. Start time is set for Noon.
