Storm earn two titles at Central Last Chance Invite

PELLA, Iowa --Dalton Cockman and Colton Kinnison both won their brackets and titles, while Robert Silva and Mason Kruljac were consolation winners for Simpson wrestling at the Central Last Chance Invitational on Saturday.

After receiving a first round bye, Cockman earned a pin in 3:12 for his first win in the 165-pound bracket. The freshman followed up the pin with a 10-0 major decision to find a spot in the title bout, which he won 6-4 over Central's Levi Condy.

Kinnison grabbed a first round pin in 0:42 to advance in the 285-pound bracket, which set him up for an 8-2 decision in the next match. Kinnison issued another pin to move into the finals. The Red Oak, Iowa native won 5-3 to secure the Storm's second first-place finish.

Silva dropped his first competition at 149 pounds, but prevailed in the next contest in a 2:45 fall. Silva produced another pin to advance to the consolation finals, where he tallied a technical fall.

With a first round loss, Kruljac rebounded with two-straight pins to win the consolation bracket at 157 pounds for Simpson. Both pins came in the first round for the freshman.

Josh Bower grabbed two wins at 133 pounds to find a spot in the consolation finals, but fell short to pull grab another win for the Storm. Bowers recorded two falls to highlight his day. The quartet of Isaac Romo, Nyan Baker, Shane Mathias and Noah Kirtley all picked up a win in their respective weight classes for Simpson.
