Moon takes home conference runner of the week award

INDIANOLA, Iowa - After winning his seventh career cross country title at the Bill Buxton Invitational, Spencer Moon of Simpson men's cross country was named the American Rivers Conference Runner of the Week.

Moon is taking home his second career conference weekly award after setting a new career-best in the 6K with a blistering 17:34.5. The senior from Lake City, Iowa helped lead the Storm to a dominant team victory as well, with eight Storm athletes finishing in the top 10. Moon finished over 90 seconds ahead of second place, leading for the entire race.

"Spencer's performance on Friday was a direct representation of his terrific summer of training," said Heath Moenck, director of cross country and track and field. "He is running on a new level right now and we're excited for him to lead us all fall."
