Moon ends stellar season at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Simpson College men's track and field standout Spencer Moon ended his stellar junior campaign with an 17th place finish in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

The Lake City, Iowa native crossed the finish line in 32:01.36, capping off an outdoor season that was highlighted by two school record marks in the 1500- and 5000-meter runs. Moon also broke three program records in the indoor season including the 3000- and 5000-meters. He anchored the distance medley relay which set a record mark of 10:08.63.

Moon has now competed at four national championships during his collegiate career. He traveled to Greensboro, N.C. for the outdoor championships in May 2021, qualified for the cross country championships in Louisville, Ky. in November 2021 and competed at the indoor championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. this past March.
