Moon qualifies for NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANOLA, Iowa – With the country's 18th-best time in the 3,000 meters, Simpson College men's track and field junior Spencer Moon has qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

This will be Moon's third-straight appearance at an NCAA meet and first during the indoor season after the last two championships were canceled. The Lake City, Iowa native qualified for the cross country championships this past fall and was a 2021 outdoor championship qualifier in the 5,000 meters.

This year's indoor championships will be held March 11-12 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with Visit Winston-Salem and Guilford College serving as hosts. The men's 3,000-meter run will take place on Saturday at 4:45 p.m.

For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 12 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
