Moon posts top-10 finish at NCAA Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Simpson College men's track and field junior Spencer Moon clocked a 10th place finish in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Saturday, finishing just two spots shy of All-American honors.

In his third consecutive appearance at an NCAA Championship meet, Moon crossed the finish line in 8:24.58 to land in the top-10 after qualifying for the meet with the 18th-best time in the country.

Moon, a 2022 USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in both the 3000 and 5000 meters, competed alongside three other All-Midwest Region performers. Jacob Ridderhoff of Washington took fourth with a time of 8:18.22, while Wartburg's Joe Freiburger (8:33.27) and Christopher Collet (8:50.94) placed 18th and 20th, respectively.
