Storm roll past North Central

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson men's tennis team shut out North Central (Minn.) 9-0 Tuesday in the first home match of the spring season.

The Storm (5-4) dropped just 10 sets on the day, sweeping both the singles and doubles competitions.

Brett Dewerff, Reade Reiter and Karson Richardson all picked up their fifth singles win of the season. Dewerff and Reiter are now 5-3 while Richardson leads the team in winning percentage at 5-1.

Dewerff scored the biggest win at No. 3 singles, blanking Danny Williams 6-0, 6-0.

The doubles teams of Dewerff and Matt Turnley and Peter Walkwitz and Karson Richardson also held their opponents scoreless. Dewerff and Turnely tallied an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and Walkwitz and Richardson did the same at No. 3.

Up Next
Simpson travels to Waverly, Iowa on Saturday, March 30. The Storm will open American Rivers Conference play against Wartburg at 9 a.m. before playing a non-conference match against St. Ambrose at Noon.
