Storm finish season ranked No. 9 in NCAA

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson women's track and field team reached its highest national ranking of the year, jumping two spots to No. 9 in the final Division III National Team Rankings as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Simpson has four athletes participating in five events at this weekend's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Berea, Ohio at Baldwin Wallace College. Each student-athlete participating ranks in the top four in the  nation in her respective event.

Catie Ellingosn (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola) and Lauren Bucklin (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar) qualified for the finals in the 1500-meter run and the 400-meter hurdles, respectively, on the first day of the meet. Bucklin will run the preliminaries in the 100-meter hurdles Friday, while finals in all events are set for Saturday. Kinsey Bak (Hinton, Iowa/Hinton) competes in the high jump and Chelsey Degen (Algona, Iowa/Algona) competes in the discus throw.
