Simpson women ranked No. 23 in NCAA

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson women's track and field team slipped seven spots in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 poll to No. 23, as announced Wednesday.

The Storm tallied 47.86 points in the poll, just behind DePauw (48.14) and ahead of Methodist (47.55). Simpson did retain its regional ranking as the No. 3 team in the Central Region, behind Wartburg and Gustavus Adolphus.

Simpson placed second at Grinnell's Dick Young Invitational last week and will send athletes to two events this week. Simpson hosts its own Kip Janvrin Open April 22-23 and will send a handful of athletes to the Drake Relays, which take place April 22-24.
