Stump headlines All-IIAC Women's Soccer selections
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Mackenzie Stump earned first team honors for the second year in a row and Ashlee Faul took home honorable mention recognition to represent Simpson on the 2015 All-Iowa Conference Women's Soccer Team, as voted on by the league's coaches.
A junior midfielder from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Stump led the Storm with a career-high 17 points in 2015, tying Meredith Harrison for the team lead with six goals and leading the team with five assists. She had at least one goal or one assist in four of the team's five wins and had five points (two goals, one assist) in a 6-0 win over Buena Vista. Stump was also a first-team pick in 2014.
A senior defender from Adelaide, Australia, Faul made an immediate impact in her one season with the Storm. She started 16 games on the back line and established herself as the team's top defender.
Simpson went 5-13 in 2015 under first-year head coach Jill Serafino, closing the season by winning 2 of 3. The win over Buena Vista in the season finale ended a 15-match winless streak in conference play.
