Women's soccer ready to reload in 2014
Preseason Information and Quick Facts
Coming off a disappointing 2013 season, fifth-year head coach Ryan Sander and the Simpson women's soccer team is set to start fresh in 2014.
Despite its record, Simpson was rarely out of the game, losing seven games by a single goal.
A senior, Johnson is a two-time honorable mention all-conference pick and has led the team in goals scored each of the last two seasons. The speedy forward found the back of the net six times in 2013 and comes into the season with 20 career goals.
Stillman made an immediate impact as a freshman a year ago, earning second team all-conference honors as the team's top defender. She and fellow sophomore Mackenzie Stump anchor a back line that will be breaking in a new goalkeeper after the loss of last year's starter, Stephanie Cox.
Returning starting midfielders Heather Adolph and Kate Morford will be looked upon to help Johnson in the scoring department. A senior, Adolph is just two years removed from a seven-goal season in 2012. Morford, a junior, scored three goals and had one assist in 2013.
