Storm earn two all-conference honors in WIAC Championship debut

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Kaelyn Tally (vault) and Olivia Hedary (all-around) earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors, highlighting the Simpson College women's gymnastics team's debut at the WIAC Championships.

Tally tied for fifth on vault with a 9.775, leading the Storm to a new program record of 48.100. Hedary placed fifth in the all-around competition with a 36.725. As a team, Simpson posted a total of 187.900 to finish eighth.

At the conclusion of the meet, junior Kaley Bristow was recognized on the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team.

ROTATION HIGHLIGHTS

Simpson began the day by scoring a 48.175 on floor, the team's second-highest mark of the season. Kaelyn Tally (9.725), Brooklen Morgan (9.700), and Emma Tolbert (9.700) all scored 9.700 or higher to lead the way, with Morgan matching her career high.
The Storm moved to vault next and used Tally's 9.775 as well as career-high scores from Olivia Hedary (9.650), Emmie Barton (9.575) and Rachel Welch (9.525) to set a new team record of 48.100.
After a third-round bye, Simpson returned to action on bars and was led by Erin Baugh's 9.300 from the fifth spot. Evalyn Resnick (9.075) and Kaylee Paige (9.050) were second and third for the Storm.
Simpson closed the afternoon with a strong beam lineup, which compiled the program's second highest score ever (47.175). Morgan (9.650) and Tolbert (9.500) once again shined with the top two scores, followed by Barton (9.425), Welch (9.400) and Hedary (9.200).
