
Women’s gymnastics to open 2025 campaign inside Cowles Fieldhouse
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's gymnastics team flips into action on Saturday inside Cowles Fieldhouse, hosting Winona State and Greenville for a 2 p.m. tri-meet.
Simpson is entering its third season of competition and first as an affiliate member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Storm will compete against seven of the eight WIAC women's gymnastics programs throughout the year, with the conference championships scheduled for March 8 in La Crosse, Wis.
Twenty-one members of last year's squad are set to make their return and will be joined by a group of five freshmen representing four different states.
ONE LAST LOOK AT 2024
- Simpson recorded an all-around season average of 182.534. The Storm's highest score of the year was a 186.200 scored at home against Greenville.
- The Storm collected their first-ever meet win with a 183.900-183.750 victory over Hamline on Feb. 25. Simpson grabbed the vault and floor titles at that meet and won one other floor title during the season.
- Emma Charles became the first national qualifier in team history, earning an at-large bid to compete on vault.
- Charles either tied or set a school record on three events, while Bella Dix tied the program record on floor.
- Four gymnasts won individual event titles throughout the season, led by Charles with three vault and two beam wins.
