Storm win floor, five gymnasts place top 3 at Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Simpson College women's gymnastics team won the team floor title and had five gymnasts earn top-3 finishes on the road at Greenville.

The Storm tallied a 180.900 overall, while the hosts posted a 186.175.

Simpson's best rotation of the night was its second-to-last as the Storm tallied a 47.675 on floor, the team's third-highest score in the event ever, to win the event. Simpson had five of the top six scores in the event, including Kaelyn Tally (9.650) and Annika Cole (9.575) who placed second and third, respectively. Brooklen Morgan also tied her career high (9.550) to help lead the way.

Along with Tally and Cole, Abbie Lain, Bella Dix and Wynter Poolaw all earned podium finishes.

HIGHLIGHTS

Abbie Lain led the Storm on beam with a 9.550 and earned second place in the all-around thanks to a career-high 36.625.
Bella Dix was right behind Lain in the all-around, placing third for the third straight meet. She collected a pair of 9.450s on vault and floor and finished second on the team on beam (8.800) and third on bars (8.500).
Kaelyn Tally (9.650) and Annika Cole (9.575) claimed two of the top-3 spots on floor, while Brooklen Morgan (9.550) matched her career high and Kaley Bristow (9.250) set a new personal best.
Wynter Poolaw finished runner-up on bars with an 8.950, her third-highest score of the season. She also had a season-best 9.450 on vault.

Simpson will compete at home one last time in 2024 next Sunday when Hamline makes the trip to Indianola.
