Tally, Lain win titles at Wis.-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Kaelyn Tally and Abbie Lain both won event titles to lead the Simpson College women's gymnastics team in its road meet against Wis.-Eau Claire on Friday.

Tally tied for first place on vault during the Storm's second rotation of the night, while Lain claimed the individual beam title in Simpson's final event.

The Storm improved their team bars score once again, resetting their program record to 44.475. Simpson also registered a 46.725 on beam, 46.325 on vault and 45.575 on floor to finish the night with a score of 183.100.

HIGHLIGHTS

Abbie Lain (9.700), Izzy Brown (9.600) and Bella Dix (9.475) paved the way for the Storm in achieving the team's second-highest beam score of the year. Lain claimed first place, while Brown was 0.05 away from a podium finish.
Wynter Poolaw garnered a season-high 9.125 on bars to lead Simpson in its first event. Annika Cole was second with a 9.050 and Bella Dix set a new career high with an 8.850.
Kaelyn Tally led the team on both vault and floor, securing a share of the vault crown with a 9.575 while placing second with a 9.550 on floor.
Dix placed third in the all-around competition with a 36.925.

UP NEXT
Simpson heads to Greenville, Ill. for a rematch with the Greenville Panthers. Earlier this season, the Panthers edged the Storm by just over half a point in Indianola.
