Storm take seventh at Kohawk Invitational to open 2024 season
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Led by Madeline Streicher's four-over par opening round, the Storm women's golf team took seventh at the Kohawk Invitational to open the 2024 season.
The Storm posted a 322 team score after the opening round, before falling back to 340 and finishing seventh overall. Simpson outpaced seven other teams, including A-R-C members Buena Vista, Loras, Luther, Central, and Nebraska Wesleyan. The team combined for 10 birdies over the two rounds, with five coming each round.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Streicher posted the team's best round in the opening round, shooting a 76 before ending with an 86 on Sunday, finishing 24th overall on the individual leaderboard.
- Kaylin Long placed second on the team, and 34th overall after carding an 81 and 84 for a total of 165.
- Joann Martin and Kristen Roe moved up the leaderboards on the second day, finishing with scores of 171 and 172 respectively.
- Addison Brink scored the second best round for the Storm in the opener with a 79 before wrapping up with a 94 to finish at 173 and 56th overall.
