
Women’s golf picked sixth in league preseason poll
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Simpson College women's golf team was picked to finish sixth in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 31 points.
The Storm are expected to continue improving in the conference this year, returning eight members of last year's team. Head coach Jeremy Johnson also added two freshmen and one transfer, totaling eleven players, the most on a team in recent years.
"We are excited for the fall season," said Johnson. "We have some women that are ready to step into a new role and compete for a starting role. I am also excited to see our newcomers come in and compete."
2023 IN REVIEW
- The team finished in the top three on three different occasions, ending the season with a third place finish at the Spring Statesmen Invitational.
- Returner Kaylin Long finished in the top 20 at the A-R-C Championships, taking 18th place.
- Returners Kristen Roe and Madison Wardlow both received A-R-C All Academic Team honors at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
- Senior Madeline Streicher finished in the overall top five in four different events on the year, taking the outright fourth place finish at the Graceland Spring Invitational.
