Storm claim third at Iowa State Championship
WAUKEE, Iowa - The Simpson College shooting sports team placed third out of six teams at the Iowa State Championship at the New Pioneer Gun Club.
The Storm collected 1,509 total points across the four disciplines of skeet, trap, sporting, and super sporting. Cannon Roberson also collected the bronze medal for the Storm in trap, shooting a 99 out of 100.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Roberson's performance in trap meant he finished third out of 98 total competitors in the discipline.
- Breydon Paxson paced the Storm overall, finishing in with a total score of 311 across all four disciplines.
- Paxson was the top Storm performer in skeet (98), sporting (79), and super sporting (39).
- Paxson's 39 (out of 50) also put him into a tie for third in the super sporting event.
- The 476 total score in the skeet discipline was the best from the Storm this season.
