Storm win first triangular league shoot of the season

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Spanning three different locations over three days, the Simpson College shooting sports team came away with the win in the first Iowa League Shoot event of the year.

Simpson edged out Grand View in the High Athlete Overall category by a score of 1,311 to 1,280, while having Breydon Paxson and Bradley Metz take second and third individually.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Paxson's overall score of 272 included marks of 97 each in trap and skeet, with his score good for the silver in the latter discipline as well.
  • Metz took third in the skeet competition with a score of 95.
  • Jenna Ducett was the top overall female at the event with a score of 256.
  • Gracie Schneider was the top overall female in the skeet discipline with a score of 89.
  • Overall, Simpson placed six athletes inside the top 10 overall.
