Storm shooting sports defeats Grand View

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson shooting sports club defeated Grand View, 509-503, on Wednesday to start out its season in winning fashion and also mark the start of its third year of competition.

The Storm were ahead 463-458 after the trap portion of the contest with Kylie Tierney shooting a nearly perfect 49 out of 50 targets. Kayla Lipper and Robert Rauhut were next in line with 48 apiece, while Kyle Myers was in the shadows with 47.

In the next portion of the dual, Molly Sheehan shined by tallying 14 points during the one-stand, while Zach Hanson was second on the team with seven. Simpson led 490-477 after the opening round of the one-stand, but held off the Vikings to secure the triumph.

The Storm are back in action this Saturday in the Iowa Invitational at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, Iowa.
