Blair named A-R-C Swimmer of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After taking home victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, and a relay victory, Tristan Blair was named the American Rivers Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Beginning with the 200 freestyle, Blair nearly shaved two seconds off his personal best, clocking a time of 1:51.49 to narrowly beat out the second place finisher from Coe by one-tenth of a second. Later in the meet, Blair claimed the top spot on the podium again, this time in the 500 freestyle. Blair won the event by 27 seconds, and beat his personal best time in the event by 10 seconds.

To cap off the event, Blair swam second in the Storm's 200 freestyle relay that won the event with a time of 1:34.30.

Simpson as a team captured a key victory over conference foe Coe, winning the meet 110-80. The Storm head to the A-R-C Championships later this month, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 20 and finishing Saturday, Feb. 22.
