Storm place fifth at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Simpson College men's golf team placed fifth at the Viking Invitational, hosted by Augustana, on Friday and Saturday at Highland Springs Golf Club.

The Storm were led by Jack Wahman, who continues to impress in his debut season. Wahman fired a 77 on day one, followed up by a 76 on day two, tying for the low round of the tournament for the Storm. His two-day total of 153 was good for a tie for 13th place.

Simpson had two golfers finish in the top 25 as well, as Blake Perrin recorded a 78 on day one and a 79 on day two for a total of 157. Bradley Kofoed also carded a two-day total of 157, shooting an 80 and then a 77.

Garin Grinstead shot a 76 to tie Wahman for the low round for Simpson, finishing with an 83 on day two, while Isaac Roe tied with Grinstead for the tournament with his two rounds of 78 and 81. Jackson Mears played as an individual, also shooting a 76 on day one, beating his career-best by three strokes.

Up Next

The Storm will compete in the American Rivers Conference Championships beginning this coming Thursday. The three-day event will take place in Muscatine, Iowa at the Geneva Golf and Country Club.
