Feature Friday: head cheer coach Heather Hulen

Indianola, Iowa -- Simpson head cheer coach Heather Hulen is set to begin her fifth season leading the Storm in 2020-21 as she is highlighted in our Feature Friday segment.

In what city/state did you grow up in?

• Moved around Iowa growing up, graduated from Indianola High School.

Favorite professional sports team(s)?

• I am more of a college sports fan! Football and basketball are my favorite sports to watch.

Favorite athlete?

• I do not have one, teamwork makes the dreamwork. I love them all the same.

Items you can't live without?

• Coffee

Favorite vacation spot?

• Anywhere in the sun on the beach

Favorite spot on campus?

• Beautiful Buxton Park

Favorite thing about Simpson?

• My cheer team

Family?

• My husband, Bill and our three children, Darby, Jeff and Cole along with our three fur children (dogs, of course) Abbey, Ellie and Buddy.

What would you be doing if you were not coaching?

• Drinking more coffee while snuggling with my dogs.

Best athletic moment?

• When my cheerleaders works together

Who would play you in a movie?

• That is not my skill set, I am better off just being me.

One thing people don't know about you?

• If they do not know something about me, then we probably haven't met.

Hobbies outside of coaching?

• Volunteering, audiobooks, working out and enjoying time with family and friends

• I have several role models, I admire many people for different reasons.
