CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Tabitha Blaser had a match-high 10 kills but it wasn't enough for the Simpson volleyball team in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-19) loss to Coe on Tuesday.
The Storm (11-13, 0-5 Iowa Conference) trailed 21-15 in the third set before getting three straight points to pull within 21-18. Blaser had two kills in the rally and Torey Buenger added one to bring Simpson within three before Coe responded with three straight points en route to closing out the win.
Brianna Smith had nine kills and Samantha Philliph had eight for the Kohawks (16-10, 2-3), who hit .384 as a team.
MacKenzie McGraw added eight kills and Sara Hoppenworth had 25 assists for Simpson, which hit .092 for the night.
