Storm fall to efficient-hitting Luther

DECORAH, Iowa - MacKenzie McGraw posted double-digit kills for the second match in a row but the Simpson volleyball team couldn't overcome an efficient hitting Luther team, falling in three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-17) Tuesday.

McGraw had 12 kills and hit .345 to lead the Storm (5-8, 0-2 Iowa Conference). Jacqueline Luth added seven kills and 16 digs and Sara Hoppenworth handed out 24 assists.

McGraw now has 22 kills over the last two games.

Emma Veum finished with 17 kills and no errors in 21 attempts, hitting .810 for the Norse (7-6, 2-0). Brandi Knupp added 10 kills and Lindsey Ryan had 42 assists as Luther hit .366 for the match.

Simpson committed a season-low eight errors and tallied just two fewer attempts than Luther, but the Norse finished with 13 more kills.
