Jordan Coughenour became Simpson's first multi-time All-American in track and field since 1997 when he helped the indoor 4x400 relay reach the podium and did the same in the 400 hurdles outdoors.

Storm sending five events to outdoor nationals

The Simpson men’s track and field team qualified a remarkable five events for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships next week in Geneva, Ohio. Simpson is sending seven student-athletes in all to the meet, which will be held May 25-27 at SPIRE Institute and is being hosted by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the University of Mount Union.

Chase Wetterling ran one of the nation’s 10-fastest times in the 400 meters, Jordan Coughenour and the 4x400 relay improved their chances for a trip to nationals and the Simpson men’s track and field team concluded the regular season at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier on Thursday.
