Simpson men’s tennis falls at home

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- In its spring season home opener, the Simpson men's tennis team fell to Concordia University, 9-0. 

Brett Dewerff's single set victory against Eduardo Rojas at No. 2 singles highlighted a tough day for the Storm (3-9). After dropping the first set, Dewerff rallied to win his second set 6-2, but fell short, 11-9, in the final set to lose the match. Senior Matt Turnley also showed perseverance by almost winning his first set, but lost the tiebreak, 7-4

In doubles play, Aaron Price and Caleb Vasconez managed to rake up four points against their matchup, but could not pull away with the win. Reade Reiter and Dewerff also scored two points in their doubles loss.

The Storm return to the courts Friday, March 27 at Bethany Lutheran. The contest is set to begin at 4 p.m.
