Central tops Storm

INDIANOLA - The Simpson men's tennis team couldn't get things going Tuesday in a 9-0 loss to Central at Buxton Memorial Tennis Complex.

The Storm (4-16, 1-4 Iowa Conference) couldn't pick up their second conference win in a row against the Dutch (8-12, 4-3).

Adam Summitt gave Simpson its best chance at No. 1 singles, taking Central's Dan Bowser to a third and deciding set. But Bowser came away with the close win, 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.

Summitt teamed up with Alex Hook at No. 1 doubles, where they faced Bowser and Seth Harris. Again, Simpson came up on the short end in a hard-fought 8-6 loss. Noah Saunders and Daniel Schneider challenged Bryn Boswell and Jacob Dreyer at No. 2 singles, but eventually fell 8-5.

Simpson's next scheduled match is set for April 28 when Cornell travels to Indianola for a 4 p.m. match. Simpson's weekend matches with Coe and Wartburg have been postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
