Storm fall to Loras in A-R-C Semifinal

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The two-seeded Simpson College men's soccer team saw their season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to three-seeded Loras in the American Rivers Conference Semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.

Simpson finishes the 2021 campaign with a 7-7-2 overall record and 5-2-1 mark against conference opponents, while Loras (12-6-2, 5-2-1 A-R-C) advances to the A-R-C Championship and will face either top-seeded Dubuque or No. 4-seed Luther.

The Duhawks scored twice in the first half with a pair of headers. Reed Miklavcic scored on a throw-in by Jared Block in the 21st minute, and Kevin Kucaba doubled the visitor's lead in the 37th minute with the help of his teammates Patrick Clancy and Kyler Donovan. Kucaba scored again with just 35 ticks left on the clock to put the icing on the cake for the Duhawks who evened their season record against the Storm after falling 2-1 earlier this season.

Simpson took 12 shots throughout the contest with 10 of 16 players attempting at least one. The Storm generated three corner kick opportunities in each half, but were unable to convert them into a score.

Seth Bowman, Ian Dean and Enrique Idehen all played their final match for the Storm. The trio tallied 52 wins throughout their five-year careers, combining for 44 goals and 27 assists.
