Storm drop nonconference clash at Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Simpson College men's soccer dropped a 4-1 match at Carleton on Wednesday.

The Knights (2-0-1) grabbed a quick 1-0 advantage in the 11th minute before adding another goal in the 33rd to hold a 2-0 lead at intermission.

With the contest at 3-0, senior Baraka Ellie tallied his first goal of the season and seventh of his career in the 67th minute. Ellie buried a free kick from 23 yards away to put the Storm (2-1-0) on the board.

Both teams were nearly even in shots with Carleton holding a slight 14-13 edge. Simpson tallied six shots on-goal and the Knights ended with eight. Junior Jordy Triana-Vasquez had four shot attempts, with three on-frame to pace the offense.
