Men’s soccer victorious in regular season road finale

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Two goals in under 90 seconds propelled the Simpson College men's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout over Coe in the team's final road match of the regular season.

Freshman Espoire Nkomezi scored his first career goal for the Storm in the 21st minute and junior Andrew Russell added another just 74 seconds later to lift Simpson to a 2-0 lead in the first half.

The Storm offense put pressure on the Kohawk goalie the rest of the way with 10 more shots including three on-goal from Jordy Triana-Vasquez. Simpson's defense stood strong in the second half and allowed just three shots as the team picked up their second-straight shutout win.
