INDIANOLA, Iowa -- A second half goal proved to be the difference as Simpson College men's soccer fell 1-0 to Saint Mary's on Saturday.
After a quiet first half by both squads, the Cardinals (3-1-0) broke through for the game-winner in the 60th minute. Eli Szymanski tallied his third goal of the season off a pass from Diego Rivera.
The Storm (2-2-0) owned the shot advantage, 11-6, and placed four of those attempts on goal. Junior Roderick Orellana-Lemus paced the team with three attempts, while senior Enrique Idehen and juniors Jordy Triana-Vasquez and Mateaus Lewis both had two.
Freshman William Kopp ended with three saves in his 90 minutes of action.
