Ellie named A-R-C Player of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson men's soccer player Baraka Ellie earned American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 14, as announced by the league office.

Ellie tallied one goal and three assists as the Storm went 1-1 last week, losing to Luther 2-1 on Oct. 10 and beating No. 25 Loras 5-2 on Oct. 13.

Simpson beat Saint Mary's (Minn.) 1-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the final non-conference game of the season. The Storm travel to Wartburg on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Baraka Ellie | Offensive Player of the Week
• Freshman forward from Des Moines, Iowa/Roosevelt High School
• Scored the Storm's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Luther
• Handed out three assists -- all off corner kicks -- in the Storm's 5-2 upset win over No. 25 Loras
• Helped the Storm snap a 23-game losing streak to Loras
• Simpson's five goals were the most by a Division III opponent against Loras since 1998
