Storm place five on men’s soccer all-conference team

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson placed five players on the 2018 All-American Rivers Conference Men's Soccer Team, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

Tanner Alderson, Baraka Ellie and Trevor Fucio earned all-conference honors while Jack Arndt and Darius Doswell took home honorable mention accolades. The Storm went 11-6-2 in 2018 and finished tied for third in the league standings at 5-2-1.

Tanner Alderson | All-Conference
• Junior forward from Parkville, Mo.
• Scored four goals and handed out five assists for 13 points
• Converted three game-winners
• Scored two goals in the Storm's 5-2 win over Loras on Oct. 13
• Named to the All-Conference team for the second year in a row
• Increased career goal total to 30, tied for fifth-most in school history

Baraka Ellie | All-Conference
• Freshman midfielder from Des Moines, Iowa
• Led the team with 18 points coming off five goals and eight assists
• Led the conference in assists and tied for second in points
• Converted two game-winners
• Had a goal or an assist in 9 of the last 12 games
• Handed out three assists in the Storm's 5-2 win over Loras on Oct. 13
• Named A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14

Trevor Fuccio | All-Conference
• Junior defender from Marshalltown, Iowa
• Handed out two assists from the back line
• Headed up a defensive unit that allowed just 0.98 goals per game
• Helped the Storm to eight shutouts

Jack Arndt | Honorable Mention All-Conference
• Senior defender from Lenexa, Kan.
• Scored two goals and had two assists from the back line
• Headed up a defensive unit that allowed just 0.98 goals per game
• Helped the Storm to eight shutouts

Darius Doswell | Honorable Mention All-Conference
• Junior midfielder from Johnston, Iowa
• Scored two goals and handed out four assists
• Assisted on goals against Luther and Coe in conference play
• Named second team all-conference in 2016
