MOORHEAD, Minn. -- For the second day in a row, the Simpson men's soccer team outplayed its opponent on the stat sheet. But for the second day in a row, the final result was unfavorable.
Simpson outshot Concordia-Moorhead 14-7 and took four more corners but couldn't find the back of the net in a 3-0 loss Sunday.
Austin Peterson put the Cobbers (3-2) on the board in the sixth minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime. Tyson Aberle added an insurance goal in the 48th minute and Aronah Mukhtar tacked on a third goal in the 84th minute.
Baraka Ellie took five shots for the Storm (2-2), who have suffered back-to-back losses for just the third time in three years.
