Hronich paces Storm in A-R-C's first round

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- In the first round of the American Rivers Conference Men's Golf Championship, Austin Hronich led the Storm with an 80 to tie for 13th on Friday.

Simpson sits in ninth with a team score of 350 after competing on Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. Nebraska Wesleyan is out in front with a 306, followed by Luther at 314 and Central at 315.

The 80 from Hronich matches his season-best that he captured at the Simpson Invite after firing a 35 on the back nine on Friday. Blake Bender went into the clubhouse tied at 17th with an 82.

Nathan Eaton currently sits at tied for 33rd with an 86 and Lucas Hemphill closes the scoring with a 102 at 44th place. Zach Kreider carded a 103 for the Storm.

Round two in Iowa City has been cancelled due to the weather, so the tournament will resume on Friday, May 3 in Lincoln, Neb. at Hillcrest Country Club.
