Storm tied for 18th after first day at Midwest Region Classic

GALENA, Ill. -- Nathan Eaton and Andrew Lallier each carded a 77 to lead the Simpson men's golf team on the first day of the Midwest Region Classic at the Eagle Ridge Resort.

The Storm shot 329 as a team to tie North Park and St. Norbert. Simpson is just 11 strokes out of the top 10.

Eaton and Lallier are tied for 21st in the field of 176 individuals. Jordan Knutson of Carthage shot a 2-under 70 in the first round to lead the field by one stroke. 

Reid Cobb, Blake Bender and Konner Johnson rounded out the Storm's top five.

The tournament concludes Saturday.
