Storm cross country remains in regional rankings

NEW ORLEANS - Simpson women's cross country team remained at No. 7 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings, while the men checked in at No. 8, as announced on Tuesday.

Both teams recently competed at the American Rivers Conference Championship last weekend, with the women having two all-conference runners and the men having one.

Spencer Moon continued his fine Storm season and career by placing 12th overall at the meet, leading the team to a fifth place finish overall. Moon's performance gave him his third straight all-conference performance, all while leading the Storm in every meet he has competed in this season.

The women were led by Emma Angus and Lara Kallem, who placed 12th and 14th, respectively. It was the first time since 2017 any female Storm runner was named all-conference, while it was the first time since 2009 that the Storm had two or more all-conference runners.

Both squads will head up to Geneva, Ill. on Nov. 12, where they will compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, with a chance to qualify to the NCAA Division III Championship.
