WAVERLY, Iowa – The Simpson volleyball team hung with preseason conference favorite Wartburg for two sets but eventually fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-16) on Wednesday night.
Tabitha Blaser had nine kills to lead the Storm (12-3, 1-2 Iowa Conference) in what was a tough night offensively. Katie Kieffer had 21 assists and Morgan Terpstra finished with six kills and a team-high .364 attack percentage.
Maddis Forsyth had 11 kills, Bailey Wilson had 10 and Ramey Sieck finished with 27 assists for the Knights (13-6, 3-0), who received votes in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll.
Simpson is off this weekend but will host William Penn in non-conference action on Monday, Oct. 7. Start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
