
Rogers named IIAC Player of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson volleyball player Kim Rogers earned Iowa Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 29.
A senior defensive specialist from Omaha, Neb., Rogers recorded 101 digs last week in leading Simpson to a 4-1 mark. She anchored a defense that held opponents to a .136 attack percentage and helped Simpson go 4-0 at the IIAC-NACC Crossover.
Rogers had 22 digs in a five-set loss at Luther on Sept. 23 and finished off the week with 28 in a 3-1 win over Concordia (Wis.) on Sept. 28.
Rogers surpassed the 1,000 dig milestone at the IIAC-NACC Crossover and currently has 1,078 during her career.
The Storm (12-2, 1-1 Iowa Conference) travel to Waverly to take on Wartburg in an Iowa Conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
