Tranquilino receives all-conference honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Sophomore Bella Tranquilino of Simpson women's tennis team was named to the All-American Rivers Conference Honorable Mention Team, as announced by the league office, Thursday.

Tranquilino played the entire fall season at the No. 1 singles spot for the Storm and almost every match at the No. 1 doubles spot as well, normally pairing with Donni Kinghorn.

Tranquilino picked up two conference victories in singles, defeating Buena Vista's Alexis McGinnis 7-5, 6-2 in dual play, before advancing to the second round of the A-R-C Championship Flight A Singles Bracket to end the fall season. Tranquilino defeated Luther's Lexi Hastings in the first round, 8-5.

Tranquilino's honor makes this the sixth straight season the Storm have had at least one member be named to an all-conference squad.
