Storm complete fall season at conference championship

DECORAH, Iowa - Highlighted by Kira Anderson advancing to the quarterfinals of the Flight C Singles competition, Simpson women's tennis team completed its season at the American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament this weekend.

Anderson started her journey early Friday morning with a 8-6 win over Dubuque's Tatiana Ptaszek. Anderson then won again later on Friday with an 8-4 win over Nebraska Wesleyan's Ella Mahaffy. Despite a brilliant run to the quarterfinals, Anderson fell to Loras's Alex Oestreich.

The team of Kennedi Wright and Carina Covington won their first round match in the Flight B Doubles competition, 8-6, over a combined duo from Luther and Buena Vista. However, they fell just short of the quarterfinals with an 8-4 defeat by Central's Brianna Lindstrom and Madie Holle.

Bella Tranquilino, playing in the highly competitive Flight A Singles, won her first round match against Luther's Lexi Hastings, 8-5. She advanced to the second round, but fell to another Luther player, 8-1.

The Storm women complete their fall season and will work towards returning in the spring, which features more tournament play.
