Moon guides Storm to fifth place finish

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Spencer Moon won his third straight all-conference honor, leading Simpson men's cross country team to a fifth place overall finish at the American Rivers Conference Championship, Saturday, at Pickard Park.

Wartburg claimed the team title, finishing in five of the top nine spots for 26 total points. Loras took second with a total of 50 points. Luther rounded out the top three, finishing with 83 points.

Central finished one spot ahead of the Storm with 99 points, while Simpson had 126 points, good for fifth. The Storm edged out Buena Vista in sixth, who had 196 points. Coe came in seventh with 218 points while Dubuque and Nebraska Wesleyan tied for eighth with 228 points each.

Moon finished 12th individually in a time of 25:27.85 to pace the Storm. Cade Mash continued his fine campaign with a 32nd place finish in 26:35.11. Marc Medici was just five spots behind in 37th with a time of 26:44.82, while Ean Warrick was right behind Medici in 39th, clocking a time of 26:46.57. Louden Foster rounded out the scoring for the Storm, finishing 42nd with a time of 26:53.93.
