Storm open conference play against Central

PELLA, Iowa – Simpson opened up conference play today as the Storm travelled to Pella to face off against the Dutch of Central. Despite the 7-0 defeat, the Storm put up a hard fight in both singles and doubles competition, losing one of their singles competitions in extra points.

Javier Robles Solis fell in his close match 5-7, 6-4, 10-7, pushing his match into extra time. Seth Orta brought a strong performance to singles competition as well, putting up points in both sets of his match. Others scoring points included Grant Love and Drake Downard.

In doubles competition, the team of Javier Robles Solis and Grant Love defeated their opponents 6-4, securing the only doubles win of the day for the Storm. Seth Orta and Darek Kayser fell in their match 6-1, while Coleman Condon and Drake Downard lost 6-0.
