
Storm picked ninth in A-R-C Men's Tennis Preseason Poll
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Led by three veteran returners in Javier Robles Solis, Grant Love and Drake Downard, the Simpson men's tennis team was selected ninth in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday.
Along with the presence of three veteran upperclassmen, the Storm feature sophomore Blane Wallace, and three newcomers in Seth Orta, Coleman Condon and Darek Kayser. Led by seasoned, ninth year head coach Matt Price, the Storm looked poised to capitalize on their experience heading into 2025, "Looking forward to the returners stepping up their game and leading by example with the three newcomers on the team."
LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON
- Simpson went 1-13 overall last season with an 0-8 record in A-R-C action.
- Love led the team in wins last season with eight, going 8-7 overall. Robles Solis and Downard combined for eight wins overall.
- Love was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, and was an A-R-C Academic All-Conference team selection.
- Robles Solis advanced to the Round of 16 in the individual A-R-C Tournament after defeating his opponent 4-2, 4-2 in the opening round.
